I went to Gleneyrie School from 1954 to 1962. Gleneyrie was just a grade school grades 1 thru 8, located out in the country. My sister who is 9 years older went there also. The principal of the school was Rudolph Collins who also taught 8th grade. Mr. Collins had a paddle which he called "Georgetown" (corporal punishment was allowed back then). It was about 14 - 18 inches long 4 inches wide and had several holes drilled in it. None of my classmates or I ever had a first hand meeting with it. The school has been closed for many years and is now apartment dwellings. I made a lot of friends back then, had my first love (1st grade), and my first of several fist fights. (We didn't use guns or knives back then). It was a wonderful time in my life.
