I was a Bendito girl in the early 60's. I remember Thelma and Dot very well and the slides shows in the evening. The day trips were amazing, mostly climbing every mountain and hill in that area including NH. We also visited lots of mineral shops. I learned how to swim in Island lake. I remember the bigger than life leaches and the cans of salt that were handy near the kayaks and Canoes. I don't know why I suddenly thought about this place. I think I had my first kiss there to during one of the dances. I remember there was a boys camp across the lake which cause Thelma and Dot a lot of stress. I guess the camp is gone. I was for two year in the cabin Senoritas?..but having started off in the Banditos. Wow. The library in the lodge had amazing books and history. I wonder as well what has happened to all that stuff.

The last time I was there many of the cabins had been torn down. There were families staying in the lodge. I wonder what happened to the pictures from the Lodge? I would love to stay in touch

I live in Maine and the last time I was there, most of the cabins had been torn down. There was a family staying at the lodge. No idea who owns it. I wonder what happened to all the photos on the wall in the lodge. I would like to stay in touch. how?

I too was a Bendito girl from 1964-1970. I have very fond memories of Dot and Thelma and the camp. We use to have a slide shows for evening activity. I wonder where all those phoots are? It would be great to see them. I have some that I must scan and upload at some point. Sorry to hear about Thelma's passing. I do remember hearing of Dot's passing many years ago. They lived in my hometown on Kent St. What has become of the camp?

I was also a Bendito girl from 1967 - 1974. I did not hear about Thelma's passing. I would have like to have shown my respects. I assume Dot passed away some time ago?
